Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion. In Ayurveda, diabetes is described under Prameha, particularly Madhumeha. Metformin is a first-line oral hypoglycemic drug, whereas Chandraprabha Vati is a classical Ayurvedic formulation indicated in Prameha.
